garbology

Authors Note: This story is about a pink princess and her journey trying to plan a birthday ball for her mom.

Once upon a time there was a pink princess and her name was Andrea.  She always wore a name tag because no one could remember her name.   One day she was wandering the forest and she tripped on a twig.  Her knee started bleeding so she had to go back to her castle to the nurse to get her knee wrapped in gauze.  Once her knee felt better she went out to the town to go shopping.   It was her mom's birthday this weekend.  So she decided to get happy birthday cupcakes that said happy birthday on them.  She decided she would throw her mom a pink birthday ball.

The day of the birthday ball Andrea decided to paint a sign with a paint brush that said happy birthday in pink bold letters.    She had to quick run to the market to pick up Chex mix  because that is her mom's favorite.  Andrea also bought pink erasers to hand out to the guests after the birthday ball.  While she was there she met a prince and he gave her a magnet to symbolize his love to her.  The magnet even had his number on it.  Andrea and the prince lived happily ever after.

District Assesment

In the story The Hundredth Dove by Jane Yolen, Hugh the game bird keeper was a man that kept his promise. When the king told the fowler (Hugh) that he wanted to have one hundred doves at his wedding, he knew he would have one hundred doves at his wedding because Hugh was a man of his word. Most would go out and just catch the doves. Hugh had a totally different strategy; the key was to be patient. I am not very patient and that can do some harm to me sometimes but in the end I live to help and hope to serve just like Hugh lived to serve also. To serve can mean to things good or bad. In the end it all depends on you and your choices of how you choose to serve.
Hugh was a very testable man, but when it gets to a certain point, you break. In the world today many have been pushed to the breaking point that is why we have so much violence in the world. Such as gangs and murders because they were push to the point where they had to hurt someone. Hugh didn’t realize that when he broke the dove’s neck he would be hurting not just other people but also himself. When you are meant to serve you shouldn’t have to hurt someone to be committed to serve them. Hugh tried to mask his pain of hurting that dove by thinking he was serving his master. Pain and regret always come out in the end.
There isn’t just a regret and pain in everyone they also have love and compassion. Hugh didn’t mean to hurt the dove he meant to save the people from the queen’s lies. It might not seem like Hugh did the right thing but I know that deep down inside he knew that hurting the dove would not just hurt his master but hurt himself also. One thing I think Hugh did wrong was he ran away from his problems. You should always face your problems head on. It doesn’t matter what Hugh did wrong it matters what he did right and it matters that he was trying to protect his master. Sometimes protecting someone can lead more to harm than.
Pain is a crucial thing in the world today. Hope will always keep you alive no matter how close you are to death. Don’t do what Hugh did; just believe things will work out in the end. Pain will go away eventually but you first have to move on from the past. You just need to believe that you are the future.

Picture journaling

Authors Note:  Today in class I was told to find any picture and reflect on it.

Reading has always been easy for me, and that is why I love to read. It takes me awhile to get into a book but when I do I feel like I could read for hours straight.  I can never wait to read the next book of the series.  The thing I hate is when a book leaves you hanging and there isn't another book to read after the one you just read.  It is weird because I love to read but I hate to write.  Maybe as I get older  i will like to write.
